Electrical Engineer – O&M

Position: Electrical Engineer – Operations and Maintenance
Location: Baytown, Texas (Onsite)
Requirements:
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree (BE/BS) in Electrical or Electronics & Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Key Skills & Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, including IEEE, NEMA, ASME, CE, and relevant regulations.
- Familiarity with Hazardous Area Classifications, ATEX requirements, and IP ratings.
- Strong comprehension of processes within refineries and chemical plants.
- Expertise in engineering and reliability, including:
- Participation in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
- Planning and overseeing periodic and emergency shutdowns
- Supervision of manpower and material management
- Proficient in reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and documentation, such as:
- One-line diagrams, schematics, data sheets, electrical layouts, and cable schedules
- Experience in reviewing technical documents from vendors and sub-vendors.
- Ability to select and size electrical equipment, including:
- Generators, motors, VFDs, transformers, HT & LT switchgears, relays, breakers, and cable trays.
- Hands-on maintenance experience with:
- Transformers, circuit breakers, MCC panels, batteries, motors, and generators.
- Competency in power system modeling and analysis, including:
- Relay coordination, short-circuit analysis, and arc flash studies.
- Developing and implementing equipment strategies for electrical systems.
- Assigning equipment criticality based on global industrial best practices.
- Experience with preventive, corrective, predictive, and condition-based maintenance.
- Conducting function testing of electrical systems such as:
- Battery systems, transformers, motors, relays, switchgears, grounding, and earthing.
- Analyzing field inspection data and implementing technical recommendations.
- Understanding of project engineering, erection, and commissioning processes.
- Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
