Power Systems Designer

Location: Colwich, KS

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an Electrical Power Engineer I to provide support in designing and implementing electrical systems for complex industrial projects. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who are looking to expand their knowledge in electrical distribution, equipment design, and power systems analysis within a dynamic industrial environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create electrical design documents, including diagrams, layouts, equipment specifications, lighting, grounding, and low/medium voltage distribution systems.

  • Perform electrical studies, such as load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash evaluations, and co-generation assessments.

  • Collaborate with project teams to determine specifications, power requirements, and layout needs for electrical equipment.

  • Communicate with equipment vendors to develop specifications, performance criteria, and delivery schedules.

  • Ensure timely procurement of electrical equipment to meet project deadlines.

  • Coordinate with utility providers to ensure sufficient power service and address co-generation requirements.

  • Suggest improvements in electrical design processes and equipment applications.

  • Offer ongoing electrical engineering support for operational facilities, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.


REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.

  • EIT certification required; PE license preferred or must be obtainable.

Experience:

  • 0–1 years of professional electrical engineering experience.

  • Exposure to industrial power systems is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong understanding of electrical system design fundamentals.
