Electrical Foreman

Location: Ruston, LA

As an Electrical Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of millwrights, electricians, and mechanics. Your main focus will be on ensuring safety, quality, and reliability in maintenance practices. This includes leading team meetings and trainings, identifying and addressing safety and environmental issues, coordinating activities with production teams for optimal productivity and cost-efficiency, and proactively addressing reliability concerns. Additionally, you will be responsible for resolving employee issues, fostering teamwork, and ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, manage, and provide effective leadership for the maintenance team
  • Prioritize safety and take proactive measures to address any concerns
  • Supervise and develop the maintenance team, promoting effective communication between shifts and with production teams
  • Utilize preventive maintenance systems to minimize unscheduled downtime
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues to meet production goals and maintain quality
  • Maximize team technical skills through effective use of training resources
  • Lead team meetings and trainings
  • Identify and address issues related to safety, reliability, environment, quality, and production
  • Coordinate activities with production team to optimize productivity and minimize costs
  • Take measures to reduce waste and address concerns proactively
  • Resolve employee issues, promote teamwork, and ensure adherence to site policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • High School diploma required; technical background, Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment
  • Experience with PLC's and other electrical manufacturing plant control systems
  • Ability to identify root causes of problems and take immediate corrective action
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to improve performance through coaching and development
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Track record of leadership and accomplishment in influencing safety, environment, quality, productivity, and people development
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs
  • Demonstrated results in achieving business goals
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Planning software such as Maximo or SAP
