Job Summary:
Our client is currently seeking a skilled Electrician to join their team on the night shift at a customer site located in Cromwell/Wallingford, CT. This position requires a highly experienced electrician to handle electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs for commercial facilities. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in working with electrical systems in a fast-paced, industrial environment, with the ability to troubleshoot, wire, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Electrical Installations and Repairs:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, circuits, and components in commercial facilities.
- Diagnose electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- System Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Replace faulty wiring, switches, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
- Blueprints and Schematics:
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams to determine system requirements.
- Follow plans for electrical installations, ensuring compliance with building and safety codes.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
- Utilize diagnostic tools to identify electrical faults and implement solutions to restore functionality.
- Perform repairs on high-voltage and low-voltage systems, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety standards and electrical codes while performing duties.
- Execute work in a safe manner, taking necessary precautions to prevent hazards.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Report any findings that require additional attention or system upgrades.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an electrician, ideally within a commercial or industrial setting.
- Prior experience with electrical systems, circuit breakers, and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Licensing and Certifications:
- Valid electrician's license (mandatory).
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification (desired).
- Skills:
- Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Thorough understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and wiring methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
