TITLE: Director of the Emergency Department

What we are seeking:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Prior experience in the Emergency Department (ED) for 3-5 years is preferred, along with a couple of years of management experience in an acute care setting.
- Must possess a current RN License in Iowa and current BCLS certification.
Hours and compensation:
- This is a full-time position.
- The salary range is between $95K and $130K.

- Provide clinical and administrative leadership and expertise in emergency medicine.
- Implement the organization's vision, mission, plans, and standards for nursing services.
- Participate in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making.
- Ensure the quality and appropriateness of care.
- Supervise and guide personnel, evaluating their performance.
- Coordinate nursing services with other healthcare disciplines.
- Contribute to the recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel.
- Take responsibility for staffing and scheduling personnel.
- Provide orientation, education, credentialing, and continuous professional development for personnel.
- Develop and monitor the budget for assigned areas.
- Create a conducive climate for nursing and other students' educational experiences.
- Oversee the hospital trauma program and ensure compliance with state requirements for trauma designation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, guidelines, policies, procedures, and professional standards set by Joint Commission, CMS, state and local agencies.
Additional information:
- The facility has over 200 beds, and the position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
