Our client, a well-established and highly respected law firm based in Pittsburgh, is in search of an experienced and motivated Labor Law Attorney to lead their dynamic Labor and Employment Practice Group. This is a remarkable chance for a strategic legal professional to assume a significant leadership role within a collaborative and forward-thinking firm.

As the Practice Group Lead, your responsibilities will include guiding a talented team and providing advice to a diverse range of clients on various labor and employment matters, including high-stakes litigation and proactive compliance strategies. The ideal candidate will possess legal expertise along with a natural talent for client development and mentoring the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on complex labor and employment issues, such as wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour compliance, and employee benefits.

  • Represent clients in state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and alternative dispute resolution forums.

  • Lead internal investigations, conduct workplace audits, and develop risk mitigation strategies for clients.

  • Draft and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and collective bargaining agreements.

  • Handle traditional labor law matters, including union negotiations, arbitrations, and unfair labor practice cases.

  • Mentor and develop junior attorneys while fostering a collaborative team culture.

  • Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic growth initiatives and business development efforts.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a strong foundation in both litigation and labor relations.

  • Must hold a valid license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and be in good standing.

  • Demonstrated experience advising clients before local, state, and federal agencies.

  • Background in traditional labor matters and labor/employment issues in transactional settings is highly desirable.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and cultivating client relationships.
