Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Hazardous Waste Management Specialist to administer and implement comprehensive Environmental Protection (EP) programs for our facility in Arlington, OR. As the primary point of contact for environmental protection matters, you will provide technical guidance, ensure compliance, and navigate complex regulatory environments. In addition, you will be responsible for training, recommending improvements, and overseeing hazardous waste management. This role may also involve leading a team of EP professionals and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate and implement corporate EP program policies and strategies at the facility.
  • Act as the main contact for incident notifications, permit applications, and expansion projects, ensuring compliance with water, air, and waste regulatory frameworks.
  • Analyze the impact of local, state, and federal regulations on operations.
  • Provide compliance enforcement support by investigating regulatory findings and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with site staff to develop action plans for resolving issues and negotiate with regulatory agencies.
  • Obtain required environmental permits and approvals, including document preparation.
  • Oversee field EP testing, investigations, and assessments, providing expert guidance.
  • Manage collection, transportation, and disposal of non-hazardous and hazardous wastes.
  • Provide budget guidance for facility EP projects.
  • Offer technical direction to consultants and staff on EP program implementation and issue resolution.
  • Deliver EP training and education programs to facility staff.
  • Maintain accurate EP data tracking system databases and generate reports.

Qualifications:

The requirements outlined below are necessary qualifications for this role:

Education: Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma/GED with four years of relevant work experience.

Experience: Minimum of seven years of relevant work experience in environmental protection.
