Job Description
The position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) is available at our company's location in Minneapolis, MN. As the Executive Vice President (EVP) of our organization, you will work closely with the Operating Company President to drive the implementation of strategies and initiatives across various functional areas such as sales, procurement, operations, finance, and HR. Your primary goal will be to achieve established profit, sales, and expense management metrics within your assigned functional areas. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that all company policies and practices are enforced and followed to maintain compliance with organizational standards. This role is considered an executive development position, preparing you for future advancement to the position of Operating Company President.
Your key responsibilities will include developing and implementing strategic initiatives across all or some of the functional areas within the Operating Company. You will also assess the feasibility of new or revised systems, procedures, and processes to drive continuous improvement. While you may have direct responsibility for specific functional areas, it is important to gain expertise and understanding of all functional areas and their related standard operating processes.
As the EVP, you will have supervisory responsibilities that involve performance management, talent development, talent acquisition, and succession planning. It is essential that you display strong leadership skills to foster a respectful and productive work environment, as well as promote a culture of accountability.
Your role will also involve leading and managing the planning and budgeting process for your assigned functional areas to ensure business objectives are met. This includes setting both current and long-term goals. Moreover, you will review and analyze financial reporting and statements to determine the progress towards financial objectives.
In addition to your main responsibilities, you may be assigned other related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 6 - 10 Years of successful senior management experience within a related industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
- 10+ years of successful senior management (Director +) experience within the foodservice industry
- Independent sales Director/VP level leadership experience
- Foodservice distribution industry experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in profit and loss (P&L) management
