Semiconductor Field Technician

Location: Utica, NY

Our client is a leading company that offers imaging solutions to various markets in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

We are currently looking for a Semiconductor Field Technician to join our team in Utica, NY. As a Field Service Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing semiconductor process equipment. You will be reporting to a designated worksite in Central New York five days a week and need to reside near Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor process equipment, ensuring minimal downtime. Seek assistance from senior technicians for complex repairs.
  • Monitor, inspect, and prevent malfunctions in semiconductor equipment.
  • Document maintenance activities accurately and provide regular reports.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of service parts and equipment for repair work.
  • Provide training and support to technicians, and potentially offer basic guidance to customers.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training to enhance expertise.

Qualifications:

  • An Associates degree or equivalent is required, while a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience in electromechanical roles, such as field service engineer or technician in a semiconductor equipment company or a technical position in the engineering field. Litho experience is preferred, and experience with high precision equipment is helpful.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and compressed workweeks.
  • This role requires driving for company business and adherence to company safety guidelines and policies.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds individually, with assistance available for weights over 30 pounds.
  • Ability to engage in standing, walking, typing, grasping, as well as occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time-sensitive situations.

This is a full-time position that offers competitive benefits. The hourly salary ranges from $36/hour ($65,520 annually based on a 35-hour work week) to $42/hour ($76,440 annually based on a 35-hour work week), with overtime opportunities.
