Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician: We are seeking a Field Service Technician who is self-directed, has excellent customer service skills, can write technical reports, and provide input for product improvement recommendations in collaboration with the Product Development Group.

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (domestic and international)
  • Proficient in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Knowledge of PLC’s highly desired
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment
  • Clean driving record
  • Comfortable with working at heights

Experience in the use of PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms highly preferred.

Must currently possess or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

Engage directly with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors

Schedule and coordinate participation of relevant parties for equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning activities

Ensure timely response to customer inquiries through internal coordination

Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both on-site and remotely

Repair equipment at customer facilities, handling both warranty and non-warranty claims

Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations

Ensure proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines

Travel to customer sites for final commissioning and demonstration of equipment functions

Clear and sign-off all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items per project requirements

Participate in project and construction meetings, as necessary

Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel

Act as trouble-shooter for on-site technical issues, analyzing and resolving faults, and assisting customers with subsequent queries

Coordinate all details of site visits with customers and/or end-users before departure

Handle all travel arrangements (airfare, lodging, ground transportation, etc.) independently

Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
