Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician: We are seeking a Field Service Technician who is self-directed, comfortable interacting with customers, capable of writing technical reports, and able to provide product improvement recommendations to the Engineering team in the Product Development Group. The Field Service Technician is responsible for independently assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • 5 years of experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (both domestic and international)
  • Ability to write trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLC’s
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must not be afraid of heights
  • Experience in the use of PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) experience highly preferred.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

  • Frequent interface with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
  • Support in scheduling and coordinating the participation of vested parties in site activities
  • Coordinate internally to ensure a timely response to customer inquiries
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment onsite and remotely
  • Repair equipment installed onsite at customer facilities, both warranty and non-warranty claims
  • Carry out routine inspections of existing system installations
  • Take ownership regarding the correct implementation of pre-commissioning activities
  • Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions
  • Support the project team in clearing mechanical, electrical, and automation punch list items
  • Participate in project and construction meetings
  • Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
  • Resolve technical issues onsite and be available for subsequent queries
  • Independently coordinate with customers and end-users prior to site visits
  • Independently coordinate all travel arrangements
  • Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering
