Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Summary of the Field Service Technician Position:

We are seeking a self-directed Field Service Technician who excels in customer interactions. The ideal candidate will also possess technical writing skills and contribute to product improvement recommendations. The Field Service Technician will independently assemble, commission, inspect, repair, and troubleshoot systems, both domestically and internationally.

Field Service Technician Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical field
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, including domestic and international travel
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLCs
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in working with Windows environment and software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Clean driving record
  • Comfortable with working at heights

· Experience in the use of PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms is highly preferred.

· Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Field Service Technician Responsibilities:

Frequent interactions with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors.

Schedule and coordinate involvement of relevant parties to inspect equipment installations and participate in start-up and commissioning activities.

Ensure timely response to customer inquiries by coordinating internally.

Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both on-site and remotely.

Perform repairs on equipment installed at customer facilities, including warranty and non-warranty claims.

Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations.

Take responsibility for the proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation, ensuring the quality of work and reports.

Travel to customer sites to conduct final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions according to specifications for customer acceptance.

Support the project team in clearing and signing off mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items as required.

Participate in project and construction meetings.

Prepare and deliver technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel.

Act as a trouble-shooter to analyze and resolve technical issues on-site, and provide on-site technical support to customers as needed.

Coordinate all details of site visits with customers and/or end-users prior to departure.

Handle all travel arrangements independently (airfare, lodging, ground transportation, etc.).

Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities.
