Job Summary of the On-Site Technical Support Specialist: We are seeking an On-Site Technical Support Specialist who is capable of working independently, possesses strong customer service skills, can produce technical reports, and can provide input to the Product Development Group on product improvements. The On-Site Technical Support Specialist is accountable for assembling, installing, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the On-Site Technical Support Specialist:

  • 5 years experience in a field support role with decision-making responsibility
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (domestic and international travel)
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly desirable to have knowledge of PLC’s
  • Ability to comprehend and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must have no fear of heights

· Experience in utilizing PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) is highly preferred.

· Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain a valid passport (including proper documentation for travel within and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the On-Site Technical Support Specialist:

· Regular interaction with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors.

· Assisting in scheduling and coordinating the involvement of relevant parties at the site to inspect and approve the final equipment installation, as well as their participation in start-up and commissioning activities.

· Internal collaboration to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries.

· On-site and remote troubleshooting of PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment.

· Repairing equipment installed at customer facilities, including both warranty and non-warranty cases.

· Conducting routine inspections of existing system installations.

· Taking responsibility for executing pre-commissioning activities in the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines, ensuring work quality and report accuracy.

· Traveling to customer sites to carry out final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functionality according to specifications for customer approval.

· Assisting the project team in clearing and signing off on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items as per project requirements.

· Participation in project and construction meetings, as needed.

· Ability to deliver technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel.

· Serving as an on-site trouble-shooter, analyzing and resolving technical issues, and being available to customers for subsequent technical inquiries.

· Independently coordinating with customers and/or end-users to plan site visits in advance.

· Independently arranging all travel logistics (flights, accommodations, ground transportation, etc.).

· Providing direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities.
