Location: Raleigh, NC

Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Summary of the Role: We are seeking a self-directed On-Site Equipment Technician who excels in customer interaction, has strong technical report writing skills, and can provide valuable input for product improvement within the Product Development Group. This role entails independent assembly, commissioning, inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a field service role with decision-making responsibilities
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical field
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (domestic and international)
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs is highly preferred
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Clean driving record
  • No fear of heights

· Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms is highly preferred.

· Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel

Responsibilities:

· Regularly interact with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors

· Assist in scheduling and coordinating stakeholders for equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning

· Coordinate internally to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries

· Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment on-site and remotely

· Repair equipment at customer facilities, including both warranty and non-warranty claims

· Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations

· Ensure proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines

· Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions

· Support project teams in clearing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items

· Attend project and construction meetings as required

· Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel

· Act as an on-site troubleshooter for technical issues and subsequent queries

· Independently coordinate site visits and travel arrangements

· Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering
