Field Technical Engineer (Nano Technology)

Our client is a leading provider of consumer, business-to-business, and industrial digital imaging solutions to the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean markets.

We are currently seeking a Field Technical Engineer to provide support for the installation and maintenance of semiconductor equipment in the Hillsboro, OR region. This position requires the candidate to be located in or near Hillsboro, OR, and report to the assigned worksite 5 days a week.

You will receive training in either Texas or Oregon for a period of 1-3 months.

Responsibilities:

· Monitor, inspect, set up, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor process equipment in the field to prevent equipment downtime.

  • Teach customers how to operate and maintain the system equipment.
  • Act as a company representative to the customer for assigned projects, such as installations and major component replacements.
  • Independently and with others, perform complex repair maintenance or unit replacement according to factory procedures.
  • Provide technical support to customers and address questions about operation procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize equipment downtime and ensure positive customer relations.
  • Identify and report equipment errors and performance issues to aid in troubleshooting or maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of activity and provide regular reports.
  • Conduct training for customer personnel to ensure service and operations proficiency.
  • Collaborate with other technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (e.g. technical training, military training or technical school)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field (e.g. semiconductor manufacturing equipment)
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system is required
  • Hands-on mechanical skills as well as experience with electronic testing tools required
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with other engineers in challenging situations.
  • Additional experience or knowledge in optical, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skills, or chemicals is a plus
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer support experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel and work flexible schedules
  • May require domestic and international travel.
  • Ability to lift at least 25lbs and perform tasks such as standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking and hearing, as well as occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Ability to work in time-sensitive situations with quick resolution.

The salary range for this role is $69,300 - $103,770
