Manufacturing Financial Analyst

Job Summary:

As a Financial Analyst, you will report to the Finance Team Lead and be responsible for conducting moderately complex financial analysis. You will present your findings and recommendations to management and investigate any issues related to assigned projects. Your duties may include business partnering, analytics, business planning, monthly forecasting, and completing period close tasks. In addition, you will be eligible for an 8% bonus and accrue paid time off and vacation days monthly. Our company also offers a 401k matching program and relocation assistance within a reasonable driving distance of Indianapolis. The role is onsite, Monday-Friday, with one Sunday a month for a few hours, which can be traded for another workday.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the weekly yield loss reporting process, including inventory adjustments and analyzing yield performance
  • Complete the weekly labor report, including variance analysis
  • Oversee the monthly forecast for Maintenance Spend and conduct weekly meetings to track spending
  • Lead weekly finance meetings to review results with operations and leadership
  • Analyze monthly overhead spend by department and communicate with cost center owners
  • Support the preparation and compilation of the annual operating plan for yield and overhead accounts
  • Participate in month-end/quarter-end close activities, including journal entries and variance explanations
  • Contribute to finance and plant-wide projects, such as cost savings analysis and reporting
  • Actively participate in plant continuous improvement and CPS activities

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or nearing graduation
  • Preference for some manufacturing experience (distribution industry experience will be considered)
  • 2+ years of professional accounting or financial experience
  • Knowledge of financial systems and general accounting concepts
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel pivot tables
  • Experience with SAP or other software tools preferred
  • Ability to adapt to the ambiguity of a manufacturing environment and perform financial analysis from scratch
