Manufacturing Financial Analyst

Job Summary

As a Financial Analyst, you will report to the Finance Team Lead and be responsible for conducting moderately complex analysis in your assigned financial area. You will make recommendations to management and investigate issues related to assigned projects. Additionally, you may engage in business partnering, analytics, business planning, monthly forecasting, and period close tasks. This role includes a variety of benefits, such as an 8% bonus eligibility, paid time off that accrues monthly (with a total of 21 days), and a generous 401k program with a 9% company contribution. Relocation assistance is available within a couple hours driving distance of Indianapolis. The position requires working on-site during day shifts from Monday to Friday, with one Sunday a month for approximately 5-6 hours, but this can be traded for any other workday.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the weekly yield loss reporting process, including inventory adjustments, trend analysis, and investigation of significant losses.
  • Complete the weekly labor report and conduct variance analysis.
  • Oversee the monthly forecast for Maintenance Spend and hold weekly meetings with MRO buyers to monitor spend against forecast.
  • Lead the weekly finance meeting to review results with operations and leadership.
  • Analyze monthly overhead spend by department and communicate with cost center owners.
  • Support the preparation and compilation of the annual operating plan for yield and overhead accounts.
  • Participate in month-end/quarter-end close activities, ensuring completion of assigned tasks and journal entries while explaining variances to plan.
  • Contribute to finance and plant-wide projects, providing financial support for cost savings analysis, tracking, and reporting.
  • Participate actively in plant continuous improvement and CPS activities.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, or very near graduation.
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred, but experience in the distribution industry will also be considered.
  • At least 2 years of professional accounting or financial experience.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and general accounting concepts.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel pivot tables.
  • Experience with SAP or other software tools is desirable.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and adapt to the ambiguity of financial analysis in a manufacturing environment.
