Solar Power Forensic Electrical Engineer - Houston or SE US

Location: Houston, TX
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in forensic analysis of solar power systems. This position is located in Houston, TX and will be a part of our client's Southeast US team.

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer, your main responsibilities will include conducting and overseeing investigations and evaluations related to machinery and equipment. This will involve examining and assessing mechanical equipment and systems, conducting root cause failure analysis, evaluating mechanical and metallurgical properties, and analyzing repair and replacement costs for damaged facilities and equipment. Additionally, you will be tasked with interacting with clients and collaborating with fellow consultants, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and preparing detailed written reports summarizing your findings.

Technical Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in a Southeast State or be able to obtain the license within 6 months
  • Prior experience with Solar Power Systems is highly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in forensic investigation and report generation is a desirable skillset
  • Experience in providing legal depositions and acting as an expert witness would be a significant advantage
  • Advanced Technical Education degrees (a plus)
  • Proficiency in computer software applications such as MathCAD, AutoCAD, and MS Office
  • Previous experience in an industrial/manufacturing/design setting
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
