We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Foreman to oversee and direct personnel on a construction project in Columbia, SC. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and productivity of the project while adhering to company policies and regulations.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

As the Foreman, you will be responsible for guiding and directing activities on the project, ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA/MSHA regulations, and meeting company goals. Your main responsibilities will include:

· Operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to regulations and company policies.

· Reading and interpreting engineered plans and staking out in the field.

· Setting up GPS base station and guiding equipment.

· Performing safety training, planning, and communication for the project.

· Communicating production issues and implementing plans to overcome them.

· Ensuring safe storage of heavy equipment.

· Participating in routine equipment maintenance.

· Maintaining accurate logs and records.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·Equipment operation and maintenance

·Equipment safety

Grading and general land preparation experience for commercial, municipal, and other projects

·General site preparation techniques and procedures

·Site preparation surveying and layout

·Knowledge of and ability to operate various heavy equipment

·Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques

·Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures

·Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures

·Client service and public relations skills

·Team building

·Effective verbal and listening communication skills.

·Ability to communicate effectively in English.

·Ability to read and write to maintain records.

·Time management skills

·Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

·Ability to pass drug/alcohol screenings

·Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
