Part-time Manager of Grants and Compliance Accounting
Our client, an organization driven by its mission and constantly adapting to change, is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Manager of Grants and Compliance Accounting. This position is part-time and based in Pittsburgh, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our grant programs, ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations and maintaining a smooth flow of funding processes.
Key Responsibilities: As the Manager of Grants and Compliance Accounting, your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing the entire lifecycle of our grants, from developing and submitting proposals to monitoring and ensuring compliance, in order to facilitate a seamless process.
- Reviewing and understanding grant terms and conditions thoroughly to guarantee compliance with funding source guidelines.
- Creating and managing grant budgets to align with organizational objectives and ensure accuracy.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and producing timely quarterly financial statements.
- Coordinating with auditors to complete the single government audit, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and financial standards.
- Monitoring grant spending to ensure alignment with budget projections and guidelines.
- Collaborating with sub-grantees to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with US private foundation regulations and Indian FCRA laws.
- Reviewing and coordinating legal documents such as grant agreements, sub-award agreements, and service contracts.
- Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
- Taking on additional duties as necessary to support the smooth operation of the organization.
Qualifications & Experience: The ideal candidate will possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with expertise in general accounting, budget development, grants management, and compliance.
- Knowledge of 2 C.F.R. 200 (Uniform Guidance) and its application in a nonprofit setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
- A resourceful, adaptable, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to efficiently resolve complex issues.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of compiling and analyzing data to create clear and concise reports.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software, ideally Sage Intacct or a similar ERP system.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace tools.
