Part-Time Manager of Grants and Compliance Accounting
Our client, an organization driven by a dynamic mission, is in search of a Manager of Grants and Compliance Accounting to fill a part-time position in Pittsburgh, PA. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the organization's grant programs. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with financial and legal regulations while maintaining a smooth flow of funding processes.
Primary Responsibilities: As the Manager of Grants and Compliance Accounting, your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the entire grant cycle, from proposal development and submission to monitoring and compliance, to ensure a seamless process from beginning to end.
- Thoroughly reviewing and understanding grant terms and conditions to ensure alignment with funder requirements and compliance with funding source guidelines.
- Preparing and managing grant budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and delivering timely financial statements on a quarterly basis.
- Coordinating with auditors to complete the single government audit and ensuring adherence to all regulatory and financial standards.
- Monitoring grant spending to ensure adherence to budget projections and guidelines.
- Collaborating with sub-grantees to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with US private foundation regulations (including expenditure responsibility) and Indian FCRA laws.
- Reviewing and coordinating legal documents such as grant agreements, sub-award agreements, and service contracts.
- Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
- Fulfilling other duties as needed to support the organization's smooth functioning.
Qualifications & Experience: The ideal candidate should possess:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with expertise in general accounting, budget development, grants management, and compliance.
- Knowledge of 2 C.F.R. 200 (Uniform Guidance) and its application in a nonprofit setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- A resourceful, adaptable, and collaborative mindset with the ability to efficiently resolve complex issues.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of compiling and analyzing data to create clear and concise reports.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace tools.
