Group Benefits Account Manager

Our client, a privately held employee benefits company located in metro Detroit, is looking for an experienced Account Manager to join their team. As a Group Benefits Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing a diverse clientele and their benefits portfolios, which may include fully insured, partially self-funded, self-insured, or captive accounts. You will work closely with a dedicated account team to ensure customer satisfaction, resolve any issues that arise, and retain clients. This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding new clients
  • Responding to inquiries from clients and carriers
  • Completing RFPs and requesting census data
  • Initiating vendor renewal requests with Service Representatives and coordinating the negotiation of renewal rate relief with the agent
  • Preparing Open Enrollment guides, checklists, forms, summaries, and webinars
  • Conducting OE meetings, health fairs, and webinars
  • Participating in pre-renewal, renewal, and post-renewal meetings
  • Ensuring compliance and regulatory oversight with clients

Experience & Software:

  • Proven experience in a group benefits setting
  • Active Life and Health license or willingness to obtain it within 90 days of employment
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Brokerage Builder/ZyWave software

After the initial 90-day training period, this position can be a hybrid role or 100% in-office, with no overnight travel required. Work-from-home 3 days a week, with 2 days in the Rochester Hills office.
