Manufacturing HR Manager

Location: Rochester, MI

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage with assigned clients to develop a deep understanding of business operations and strategy, and recommend effective HR strategies aligned with the business.
  • Identify ongoing and future business capability needs and develop skills through staffing, talent development, organization design, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Meet regularly with business leaders to stay informed of changing business needs and anticipate HR issues and opportunities.
  • Assess and partner with the business to ensure management practices support an engaging culture and effectively manage change in a dynamic environment.
  • Develop initiatives to improve employee communications, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement.
  • Analyze data to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Promote and sustain a culture of diversity and inclusion.
  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations and provide follow-up and coaching as needed.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COE) to deliver HR programs and solutions aligned with business outcomes.
  • Provide advice and consultation on labor and employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation and compliance, and local, state, and federal employment and labor laws.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental regulations.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field with a minimum of 6 years of manufacturing experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in HR or related field with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience leading through significant change management
  • Experience working with COEs such as Labor, Training and Development, Recruiting, Benefits, and HR Operations.
  • Proactive team player with a flexible and dependable professional attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with key stakeholders
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and follow through
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
