HR Manager
Location: Bryan, TX
Provides support, leadership, and oversees all Human Resources functions. Responsible for developing and implementing Human Resources programs, including employee relations, talent acquisition, training, communications, compensation, and regulatory compliance. As the HR Manager, you will report directly to the HR Director but will work closely with the Operations Director as a business partner on a daily basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer human resources guidance by planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of the HR Department to support the plant.
- Act as a resource for employees, ensuring their understanding and compliance with HR policies and regulations.
- Manage employee relations efforts to create and implement HR initiatives that foster effective employee and management relations.
- Alert management of potential problems and recommend and implement appropriate solutions.
- Suggest new approaches, policies, and procedures to support ongoing improvement and act as a catalyst for change within the plant.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the plant's goals, objectives, and systems.
- Monitor HR key performance indicators, identify root causes of workforce issues, and drive improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and manage department records and reports.
- Participate actively in company-wide HR projects and meetings.
- May oversee vendor relationships.
- Ensure legal compliance by reviewing federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and providing dissemination, explanation, and consultation.
- Act as a business partner and coach for the plant management team.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process to identify top talent that meets the plant's needs across hourly, professional, managerial, and technical positions.
- Utilize coaching, consulting, and facilitation skills to influence behavior and business decisions.
- Collaborate with the Compensation and Benefits team to ensure competitive programs are in place to attract and retain talent.
- Implement systems and coach the plant leadership team to foster a positive employee relations environment and maintain a union-free workplace.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to employee relations issues that may pose legal or compliance risks to the plant.
- Manage and develop direct reports.
- Partner with Safety to promote and create a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Manage recognition events for the facility.
- Develop, review, and implement effective company communications.
- Conduct training at the plant for hourly and management teams, covering compliance, policy administration, communications, and positive employee relations programs.
- Support the Director of Operations in managing the annual performance appraisal and compensation program for the plant.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of current HR industry trends and ensure compliance with current employment and labor relations legislation.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Management
Experience:
- Over seven years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- PHR or SPHR certification is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in HRIS programs and computer literacy.
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and math skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to large audiences.
- Extensive experience with Human Resources Information Systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor work performance through the assistance of other supervisors or administrators, including making final decisions on hiring and disciplinary actions, evaluating program/work objectives and effectiveness, and realigning work and staffing assignments as needed.
