We are currently seeking two Senior Designers to join our team at our office in Alpharetta, GA.

Requirements:

  • Completion of High School or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in designing electrical distribution and control systems for heavy industrial, oil and gas, refining, pipeline facilities, and chemical plants
  • At least 2 years' experience using AutoCAD to develop or modify electrical and instrumentation drawings
  • Field experience in a related environment with knowledge of personal safety equipment
  • Experience in troubleshooting and supporting startup activities of electrical control systems
  • Ability to interface with clients, engineers, shop personnel, inspection staff, and construction contractors
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills
  • Strong proficiency with electrical and power systems and equipment up to 480VAC, including reading and understanding electrical designs and schematics, identifying and assessing installed systems against approved designs, and troubleshooting issues
  • Detailed understanding of panel and field wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Familiarity with National Electric Code (NFPA 70), NESC, and other electrical standards
  • Experience and familiarity with designing for hazardous classified areas (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the creation of E&I design deliverables such as I/O lists, control panel bills of material, control panel layout and wiring diagrams, and conduit & cable schedules
  • Participate in the creation of electrical power distribution design packages including site plot plan layouts, single line diagrams, distribution panel layout diagrams, conduit and cable schedules, and miscellaneous electrical details
  • Attend field verification walk-downs to gather information on existing site systems and execute as-built E&I and power distribution design activities
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing of company designed E&I and power distribution systems (preferred)
  • Contribute to start-up and commissioning activities
  • Keep the Project Manager and Senior Engineering project leadership updated on progress, issues, and any change order needs
  • Travel approximately 25-50% of the time, including air travel
