Factory Electrician

Location: Inyokern, CA

SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a power plant and its equipment in Inyokern, CA. Performs various electrical services including inspection, repair, and troubleshooting. Provides technical guidance and training to other maintenance personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adheres to and supports all company safety and environmental policies. Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Follows proper procedures for handling hazardous waste streams.
• Performs corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Determines the cause of equipment malfunctions and operational failures.
• Plans and conducts electrical testing and recommends equipment modifications or replacements.
• Develops electrical diagrams and specifications for system modifications or expansion.
• Coordinates electrical requirements for new construction installations.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Takes immediate action in emergency situations to minimize safety hazards and equipment damage.
• Monitors and performs maintenance work as required, including equipment repair and troubleshooting.
• Operates heavy equipment and electrical test equipment.
• Interprets technical information and documents equipment problems.
• Provides training and guidance to improve skills of co-workers.
• Offers technical guidance to senior maintenance personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must meet these requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Completion of relevant technical or vocational training, including an accredited electrical apprenticeship program, is desired. Minimum 3-4 years of power plant maintenance experience. Must have knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment. Understanding of power plant design, equipment configurations, and operating procedures. Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and control systems. Basic to intermediate computer skills in word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

We are seeking candidates with experience as an Industrial Electrician, specifically with high voltage systems (4160v and higher). Troubleshooting experience on Motor Control Centers and the ability to read 1-line electrical diagrams is also desired.
