Job Summary of the Industrial Engineer: Identify concerns related to product flow and apply lean principles to address process bottlenecks, minimize waste, and decrease work-in-progress (WIP). Supervise and manage Industrial Engineering (IE) operators and technicians, providing clear guidance, fostering skill development, and enhancing team performance to support continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications of Industrial Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of Industrial Engineering experience
- Experience in root cause analysis, practical problem-solving, and Industrial Services Data collection
- Knowledge of LEAN principles
- Demonstrated ability in implementing throughput improvement processes
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize critical tasks
Responsibilities of the Industrial Engineer:
- Lead and implement lean activities such as 5S, standard work, visual management, pace to takt, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D to reduce waste and improve productivity
- Guide the development of facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers by driving a culture of continuous improvement (CI) and operational excellence
- Oversee and monitor continuous improvement activities across all functional areas
- Standardize and optimize manufacturing processes, layouts, and flow
- Create detailed plans, monitor project performance, and ensure timely completion of improvement projects and savings goals
- Develop equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety measures to maximize the utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities
- Take ownership of equipment capital expenditures, including design, vendor selection, procurement, and implementation
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and site Leadership team to develop a continuous Improvement roadmap for achieving best-in-class performance
- Create and enhance capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards
