Job Summary of the Production Systems Engineer: Identify issues related to the flow of products and use lean principles to address process bottlenecks, minimize waste, and reduce work-in-progress (WIP). Supervise and manage operators and technicians in the field of Production Systems Engineering, providing clear guidance, promoting skill development, and improving team performance to support ongoing improvement efforts.
Qualifications of Production Systems Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in Production Systems Engineering
• Proficiency in root cause analysis, practical problem-solving, and data collection for industrial services
• Knowledge of LEAN principles
• Demonstrated ability to implement throughput improvement processes
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills
• Self-motivated and capable of prioritizing critical tasks.
Responsibilities of the Production Systems Engineer:
• Lead and implement lean activities such as 5S, standard work, visual management, pace to takt, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D to eliminate waste and enhance productivity.
• Drive the development of facility leads, supervisors, and managers by actively promoting a culture of continuous improvement (CI) and operational excellence
• Oversee and track continuous improvement initiatives across all functional areas, including manufacturing and office operations.
• Standardize and optimize manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and workflow.
• Develop comprehensive plans, monitor project performance, and ensure timely completion of improvement projects and cost-saving targets
• Design and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety measures to maximize the use of plant and manufacturing facilities.
• Take ownership of equipment capital expenditures, from design and vendor selection to procurement and implementation.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager and site leadership team to create a roadmap for continuous improvement, aiming for top-notch performance
• Develop and enhance capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards.
