Maintenance Mechanic

  • Foods manufacturer is hiring for several Maintenance Mechanics to join their operation. They have invested in new equipment and are seeking highly skilled mechanics to effectively maintain the equipment.
  • Position offers Monday - Friday schedule with optional overtime available.
  • This position is newly created to assist with company expansions.

Position Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical maintenance failures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, diagnose problems, replace and repair defective items, and make final adjustments.
  • Dismantle, rebuild, and reassemble machinery using hand and power tools.
  • Repair and replace pipes and equipment using pipe fitting tools.
  • Repair and troubleshoot motors, switches, lighting, and other electrical equipment.
  • Utilize machine shop and metal working tools to fabricate and repair parts.
  • Perform in-depth preventative maintenance services on various equipment.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and maintenance repair.
  • Achieve plant objectives in safety, quality, cost, and customer care.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations and actively participate in safety meetings.

Requirements:

  • AAS/Maintenance certification or equivalent training and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical manufacturing maintenance troubleshooting experience.
  • Self-motivated and energetic with the ability to work overtime and Saturdays.
  • Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting and knowledgeable in hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, pulleys, gearboxes, conveyors, and various processing and packaging equipment.

Preferred (not required)

  • Knowledge of welding.
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems such as SAP or CMMS.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing.
