First Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician

Location: Saline, MI

Our well-established automotive supplier is seeking a maintenance technician in Saline, Michigan.

This role involves troubleshooting and performing routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for training Maintenance Technicians 1 and 2.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To successfully perform this role, an individual must meet the following requirements:

ü Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental procedures and policies including the use of personal protective equipment

ü Comply with all QMS / EMS / ISO procedures and work instructions

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Maintain, set up, and operate machinery equipment

2. Prepare materials lists for machine repairs and fabrications

3. Independently perform routine maintenance and operation of machinery equipment

4. Troubleshoot and program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

5. Respond to service calls to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair machine problems

6. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance tasks

7. Fabricate parts and equipment using mills, drill presses, and welding equipment

8. Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, as well as retrofits and emergency repairs

9. Maintain parts inventory for common replaceable items

10. Operate forklift, overhead crane, and aerial lifts as needed

11. Maintain records, log books, and maintenance request forms using computer maintenance management software (CMMS)

12. Participate in the continuous improvement process

13. Perform all other assigned work as required

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

ü Understand machine and equipment PLCs

ü Intermediate knowledge of robotics

ü Exhibit mechanical ability and knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures

ü Document work performed

ü Use precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers

PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Note: Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required for all new hires in all positions.

ü 4-year technical degree, Journey Worker Certification, or 9 years of equivalent job-related experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 6 years of demonstrated competency in industrial maintenance
