We are currently looking for an Instrumentation Field Technician to join our team in Addison, TX. This role plays a crucial part in successful project completion as it involves direct interaction with customers, on-site technical expertise, and ensuring high-quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Instrumentation Support – Conduct start-up, calibration, and troubleshooting for various instruments including:
- Transmitters (e.g. flow, pressure, temperature, vibration)
- Analyzers (e.g. dissolved oxygen, pH, chlorine, conductivity, turbidity, ORP)
Systems Drawings & Documentation – Interpret P&ID, Control Loop, and Control Panel drawings; update documentation with as-built markups for existing PLC and DCS control systems.
Motor Control & Electrical Troubleshooting – Work with 480VAC distribution and motor control equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
PLC Equipment & Modifications – Troubleshoot PLC and relay-based systems, perform field modifications to mechanical and electrical equipment as necessary.
Computer & Networking Support – Install and start up computer and networking equipment related to project controls.
Administrative Tasks – Handle paperwork, documentation, and reporting related to project execution.
What We’re Looking For
✅ Education & Experience:
- Technical Associate’s degree OR equivalent training/experience.
- At least 2 years of experience working with instrumentation, system drawings, motor control, PLCs, and field modifications.
✅ Skills & Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of instrumentation and control systems.
- Ability to interpret and comprehend system drawings and schematics.
- Experience dealing with PLC and motor control equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access).
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to client sites.
- Excellent professional communication skills for building and maintaining strong client relationships.
