Electrical Tradesman

Location: Chesterfield, MI


Our electrical and mechanical installers are required to travel out of state every three weeks on average. Upon their return, they will work locally for one week before being sent out of state again.

All travel expenses are covered when working out of state. We have a significant amount of out of state work scheduled for the year 2024. When working out of state, the work schedule is seven days a week, with 12-hour shifts. Typically, shift time starts at 6:00am.

About the Job:
This position entails installing, maintaining, operating, and repairing electrical systems. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for training and supervising electrician assistants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and serve as a role model for others
  • Create schedules and compile parts lists to complete various electrical tasks
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of construction operations
  • Ensure availability and good condition of tools, equipment, and parts required for the job
  • Effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, and management
  • Fulfill all jobsite requirements and responsibilities
  • Provide trade-specific training and mentoring to staff as needed
  • Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to job specifications and local codes
  • Install, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical distribution systems and associated equipment within an industrial setting
  • Install EMT and Rigid conduit
  • Maintain compliance with the current National Electric Code
  • Complete work orders and document materials used on jobs
  • Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to finish assigned projects
  • Survey electrical systems, circuits, and plans

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a journeyman electrician
  • Valid State Journeyman Electrician License
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical prints
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Reliable transportation
  • Proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting written scopes of work
  • Skilled in bending and installing up to 4'' RMC Conduit
  • Familiarity with and ability to implement the requirements of the National Electrical Code
  • Basic proficiency in mathematical and electrical computations and use of measuring tools
  • Capability to recognize trade materials by size, shape, and function, and safely operate power tools and hand tools
  • Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent teamwork abilities
  • Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
  • This position entails extensive walking in factory environments and production areas
  • Must have the ability to independently and safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. frequently, and 80 lbs. occasionally
  • Proficient use of both hands is necessary
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
  • Must be willing to travel to assigned jobsites within and outside the state
