Our client is a highly reputable machinery manufacturer seeking a skilled Journeyman Moldmaker for an immediate opening in Fremont, Ohio.

Position Summary:

Responsible for constructing and repairing various plastic blow molds, including assembly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Setup and operate Bridgeport type mills
  • Smooth and clean mold surfaces using various tools
  • Measure and inspect products for defects and conformance to specifications
  • Regulate pressure, temperature, speed, and feed rates
  • Assemble mold parts, tools, and dies
  • Drill, countersink, and ream holes for fasteners
  • Shape and form metal parts using manual tools and power equipment
  • Water test and inspect molds
  • Plan machine shop tool setup and operation
  • Perform inspections using precision measuring tools
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, quality, and safety
  • Identify tooling defects and machine malfunctions
  • Report defects and questionable conditions
  • Read and interpret quality information instructions
  • Communicate with co-workers regarding mold work
  • Record data on required documentation
  • Work with minimum supervision and assistance
  • Identify areas for improvement
  • Assist with blow molding re-work
  • Assist product designers with manufacturing difficulties
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient in shop math, reading, writing, and print reading
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products

  • Give operating instructions

  • Control equipment operations


  • DOL Journeyman card required
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technical school training preferred
  • Knowledge of terminology related to equipment, tooling, etc.
  • Previous manufacturing and polishing experience preferred

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, and various hazards. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and perform physical tasks.
