Junior Controls Engineer

Location: Bettendorf, IA
The organization is expanding and seeking a Junior Controls Engineer to provide assistance with all electrical work conducted on-site in Bettendorf, IA. Responsibilities include power distribution, PLC programming, data collection, data trend analysis, and more. The plant features both the latest PLC models and legacy versions, and you will be working as part of a strong and supportive team. We are seeking an individual who is self-motivated and capable of working independently when necessary.
In order to succeed in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Exposure to Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC systems is a must. On-the-job experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Strong project management skills are required, as you will be involved in projects from start to finish. In addition, you should be able to lead and mentor less experienced personnel while collaborating with cross-functional project teams. You will also be responsible for assisting in the development of preventive maintenance procedures for the plant's electrical and controls systems.
It is beneficial to be familiar with PLCs such as Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC, and PLC5, as well as drives like Allen Bradley and Parker/SSD. Knowledge of HMI systems like FactoryTalk View, plant floor control networks including Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and DH+, power distribution, and general-purpose industrial controls is also advantageous.
