Assistant Project Engineer

Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Our company specializes in master plans, site development, and construction supervision for water, wastewater, and drainage projects in multiple South Texas municipalities and government entities.

Our team in Corpus Christi is seeking a skilled Assistant Project Engineer with a focus on public works. In this role, you will support our land and site clients by designing and delivering high-quality projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing land and site developments, including infrastructure, paving, and drainage.
  • Coordinate Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations, schedules, and submittals.
  • Engage in hands-on design work.
  • Maintain frequent communication with clients, manage client relationships, and coordinate with utility owners to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with the project team to meet client needs and objectives.
  • Review and perform quality assurance/quality control of agreements, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and invoices to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct project records research, establish contacts, and prepare utility conflict tracking reports.
  • Prepare client deliverables, exhibits, project guides, reviews, invoices, expense reports, and conduct project monitoring/field verification.
  • Handle utility permitting preparation and submittal, monitoring project schedule progress.
  • Prepare project cost estimates.
  • Assist with other design needs as necessary.
  • Coordinate with environmental sub consultants.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive engineering experience, with a focus on land and site development.
  • Proficiency in CIVIL3D software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, initiative-taking, collaboration, adaptability, accountability, and willingness to seek guidance.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and manage deadlines while handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Effective participation and collaboration in project team settings.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Desire to learn and tackle new types of projects.
  • Ability to proactively address technical problems using professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
