Lead Engineer - Automation Controls

  • Must have at least 6 years of experience in custom automation programming and design, as well as HMI and PLC programming and design.
  • Compensation up to $120,000.

  • This role is not a remote position.

This full-time position is for a Lead Custom Project Automation Electrical Controls Engineer at a company that is focused on engineering and manufacturing custom automation machinery. The engineering team consists of six engineers, allowing each individual to make a significant impact within the organization. The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:

  • Designing custom automation systems
  • Coordinating, overseeing, and mentoring multiple engineers on projects
  • Ensuring technical performance and profitability
  • Programming and designing custom PLCs
  • Ensuring proper functioning of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and programming aspects of assigned projects
  • Managing projects from concept through field commissioning
  • Working with PLCs, OITs, robots, servos, vision systems, and control devices
  • Utilizing AutoCAD

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience in custom automation programming and design
  • At least 6 years of experience in HMI and PLC programming and design
  • Experience with robotics and servos
  • Experience in coordinating multiple engineers on projects
  • Strong knowledge of designing, building, implementing, debugging, and troubleshooting factory floor automation
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience in creating schematics
  • Strong electrical engineering skills including component specification, sizing, panel layout, servos, AC/DC drives, and networks
  • Stable work history
  • Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder
  • Must reside within a 45-minute drive of the Brown Deer area
