Our client is offering an opportunity for a Paralegal position in Fort Worth, TX. This role will involve a combination of secretarial duties and legal assistance. The primary focus will be supporting a team of attorneys in handling employment litigation and business transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leverage technology resources to ensure efficient operation of the attorney group.
- Prepare and format documents using office software applications.
- Demonstrate knowledge of legal processes to accurately prepare client documents and meet filing deadlines.
- Coordinate and file e-filings in both state and federal courts and agencies.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and document scanning.
- Ensure proper saving and filing of documents in paper and electronic workspaces.
- Maintain attorneys' daily calendars, including scheduling appointments, court settings, and travel arrangements.
- Manage Outlook contacts for attorneys.
- Assist with file opening, closing, and conflicts checks.
- Provide support for timesheets and billing matters.
- Handle reimbursement requests through appropriate channels.
- Set up and maintain conference room for meetings and depositions.
- Assist in facilities support, such as reporting maintenance issues and ensuring supply room stock.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of kitchen/breakroom, supply cabinets, and copying room.
- Receive, scan, and distribute mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries.
- Order and restock kitchen and office supplies.
- Maintain professional and positive relationship with clients.
- Regular and punctual attendance is crucial.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- High school diploma or equivalency required; additional education or prior experience can be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation secretarial or legal assistant experience in a law firm setting.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PDF).
- Working knowledge of legal practices, terminology, documents, and court procedures.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Flexible and solution-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
- Excellent typing, spelling, grammar, proofreading, and general clerical skills.
- Ability to coordinate work activities, prepare legal correspondence, and organize files and records.
- Familiarity with standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, printers, fax machines, and telephones.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
