Legal Administrative Assistant

Location: Overland Park, KS

Please Note:

This role requires presence on-site at the Overland Park, KS office twice a week (Following 3 months of on-site training). Flexible remote work options are available for the remaining days.

Note: A minimum of 2 years of legal assistant experience, including some IP experience, is required. If you do not meet this criterion, please refrain from arranging a call, as it will be cancelled.

Job Description

  • Assist attorneys in preparing and filing U.S. and international patent and trademark documents
  • Handle correspondence with the USPTO and foreign associates
  • Organize legal files, oversee deadlines, and monitor docketing systems
  • Undertake other administrative and paralegal tasks as required
  • No billing obligations associated with this position
  • Work a 7.5-hour schedule, Monday to Friday

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in law office administration
  • Background in Intellectual Property
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional organizational abilities to handle competing priorities
  • Typing speed of at least 60 wpm

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with CPi docketing software
  • Experience with document management systems like NetDocs
  • Prior role as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm setting
