Hybrid Legal Support Professional
Our client, a prestigious law firm in Austin, is in search of a talented Legal Assistant/Paralegal Hybrid to provide support to a team of attorneys by performing high-level administrative and substantive legal work. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth legal operations, particularly in litigation, condemnation, and insurance defense. Key Responsibilities:
- Maximize workflow efficiency and ensure attorneys operate at their best by implementing state-of-the-art legal technology.
- Create and format legal documents, including appellate briefs, pleadings, and correspondence, with exceptional precision.
- Manage and coordinate e-filings in both state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and keeping track of file-stamped copies.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files using document management systems (iManage) and structured filing methods.
- Provide comprehensive calendar management by scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements for attorneys.
- Handle daily administrative tasks, such as mail processing, scanning, faxing, and document transmission.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and case records, ensuring precise tracking of case progress and correspondence.
- Open and close case files, assist with conflict checks, and maintain master file lists.
- Process attorney expense reimbursements through ChromeRiver and accurately track time entries for billing purposes.
- Act as a professional liaison between the firm, clients, court personnel, and external stakeholders, demonstrating discretion and sound judgment.
- Be flexible for potential overtime work when litigation demands require additional support.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in providing litigation support within a law firm setting.
- Extensive knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document formatting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF) and familiarity with legal support tools.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and adapt to changing legal needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong grammar, proofreading, and transcription abilities.
- Keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- A high school diploma is required; an associate degree, business school certification, or relevant legal education is preferred.
