Senior Litigation Associate

Location: New York, NY

Note: This position provides a base salary along with 33%+ of collections, supported by exceptional legal resources, a strong marketing team, and monthly bonus payouts. Total compensation typically falls between $530k to $990k, depending on the size of your client base ($800k–$1.5M) and your level of involvement in the workload.

Total earnings increase if your client base exceeds $1.5M.

Our client is a well-established firm primarily focused on litigation, with 80 attorneys and plans to expand to 120 attorneys. They represent large, high-profile clients and specialize in general and complex litigation, employment law, trust & estates, and insurance recovery. The firm fosters a collaborative culture with a strong client base and support system that allows partners to expand their client base and work across practice areas. Our client is conflict-free and has never represented an insurance company, allowing for a dynamic approach to litigation with strong support from associates and paralegals.

Job Description

  • Lead and oversee litigation matters for major clients in various industries
  • Utilize an established client base of $800k+ for client engagements
  • Collaborate with experienced associates, paralegals, and support staff to expand your client base
  • Focused on high-quality, hourly-based client work (no contingency cases)
  • Opportunity to develop in general litigation or specialized practice areas outside of insurance defense

Qualifications

  • Minimum $800k in portable client base (hourly billing required)
  • Extensive background in litigation (excluding insurance defense)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while utilizing firm resources
  • Strong client relationships and business development skills
  • JD with active bar admission in relevant jurisdictions
