Machine Maintenance Engineer

Location: Romeo, MI

Responsibilities of the Machine Maintenance Engineer position in Romeo, MI:

  • Perform electrical installation for all machines.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Identify the root cause of machine malfunctions.
  • Prioritize safety and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
  • Provide recommendations and implement measures to prevent recurring issues.
  • Execute approved corrections and improvements for the machines.
  • Ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented and verify their effectiveness.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and record-keeping.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the plant.
  • Maintain a safe and functional working condition for production and related equipment.
  • Possess skills in electronic calibration of control devices.
  • Request necessary equipment and tools for wiring machines.
  • Utilize predictive tools and techniques to prevent machine failures.
  • Utilize problem identification tools to determine the root cause of issues.
  • Collaborate with tooling leaders, engineering personnel, and other team members to find solutions.
  • Perform repairs and improvements using available tools and techniques.
  • Conduct verification procedures to ensure permanent corrective actions.
  • Take appropriate actions to shut down and lock out unsafe equipment.
  • Conduct calibration procedures as required.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling maintenance wastes and repair-related wastes.

Environmental Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper repair of process and pollution control equipment.
  • Handle repair/maintenance waste in accordance with regulations.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Journeyman status or 7-10 years of machine repair experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in PLCs, HMI systems, process controls, camera inspection systems, robotic controls
  • Proficiency in machine electrical and automation, mechanics, hydraulics, servo hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, and blueprint reading
  • Efficient computer and CMMS system proficiency
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and make calculated decisions
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in task completion
