Facilities Manager
Location: Bridgeport, CT
Role Overview: As the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing maintenance and engineering support functions, as well as managing plant improvement projects in Bridgeport, CT. This includes project planning and execution, vendor and contractor oversight, and providing guidance on plant maintenance programs using predictive and preventative maintenance techniques. You will also lead the maintenance team at the facility, provide technical support for process improvements, and handle other engineering tasks as needed.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Conduct assessments and maintenance activities to improve plant efficiency and reduce production costs:
A. Perform testing on plant systems and components to identify issues and plan for repairs or replacements.
B. Use analysis techniques to anticipate equipment failures and prevent downtime.
C. Assist in developing maintenance schedules and outage planning.
D. Collaborate with Operations Manager on tracking facility service hours and maintenance expenses.
2. Lead Maintenance Department personnel to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, and maintain plant efficiency. Close out work orders using CMMS.
3. Aid in developing annual maintenance budgets with General Manager.
4. Manage the site CMMS program, schedule work orders, maintain inventory, and procure parts and materials.
5. Provide training and coaching for maintenance team development.
6. Investigate plant incidents and accidents, and provide recommendations and follow-up plans.
7. Inspect equipment during outages and oversee contractor work to ensure compliance.
8. Coordinate with external partners and vendors for equipment modifications and problem resolution.
Additional Requirements:
• Proficiency in Maximo CMMS and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
• Occasional travel and physical plant facility transit required.
On-Call Expectations: This role may require being on call for emergency plant conditions or operational issues, including standby duty.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, with at least ten (10) years of relevant power plant experience.
