Facility Operations Supervisor - New Orleans, LA
Directs and coordinates activities of workers involved in the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, as well as the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Schedule the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Review job orders to determine work priorities.
- Oversee maintenance activities on utility systems to provide a continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
- Supervise workers and contractors engaged in building and grounds maintenance activities.
- Create preventive maintenance programs in collaboration with maintenance staff.
- Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
- Inspect operating machines and equipment to ensure they conform to operational standards.
- Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and increase labor and material utilization.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for operations.
- Oversee training and orientation of workers to improve work performance and familiarize them with company policies and procedures.
- Consult with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance issues and suggest measures to improve machine and equipment conditions.
- Prepare department budget and monitor budget expenditure.
