Your Responsibilities
- Lead & Develop the Team – Oversee 5 direct reports and manage a workforce of 30+ union electricians and mechanics in a 24/7 operation across three shifts
- Build & Strengthen Maintenance Capabilities – Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance personnel to develop a highly skilled and efficient team
- Implement Best-in-Class Maintenance Systems – Deploy and optimize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to improve efficiency and predictive maintenance
- Maximize Equipment Uptime – Establish preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize disruptions and extend equipment life
- Ensure Safety & Compliance – Oversee all maintenance activities to align with company safety policies and industry regulations
- Streamline Repair & Maintenance Strategies – Execute cost-effective maintenance plans, troubleshoot breakdowns, and drive operational improvements
- Manage Budgets & Vendor Relationships – Oversee procurement of spare parts, tools, and equipment, negotiating cost-effective solutions with suppliers
Your Qualifications
- BS Engineering degree is required – Strong preference for Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- 5-7+ years of leadership experience in maintenance and reliability within steel, CNC machining, metal fabrication, or other closely related heavy industrial environments
- Proven success managing teams in a unionized setting
- Expertise in teaching and coaching electrical and mechanical troubleshooting – PLC experience is a plus
- CMMS implementation experience preferred – Strong background in optimizing maintenance systems and processes
- Strong problem-solving skills – Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues efficiently
