Facility Operations Supervisor
JOB OVERVIEW:
A well-established company dominating the U.S. market in manufacturing, located in southwest suburban Atlanta, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join their team. This position includes competitive benefits, 401K with 100% match up to 5%, bonus potential, and relocation assistance.
The Maintenance Manager plays a crucial role in the manufacturing plant by supporting production operations to maintain high safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in maintenance management software and diagnostic tools. They should also possess excellent organizational and communication skills while being able to effectively work under pressure.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily maintenance and repair activities, ensuring machine reliability, minimizing downtime, managing installations, enforcing a preventive maintenance program, maintaining budget guidelines, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The Maintenance Manager will also develop maintenance procedures, manage capital projects, and ensure all compliance guidelines are met.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (All duties and responsibilities listed are essential functions of the job.)
- Lead maintenance and repair activities, schedule tasks, respond to emergencies, and design maintenance procedures.
- Ensure equipment and facilities function properly, supervise their condition, manage maintenance budget, track expenses, and ensure safety and legal compliance.
- Act as a liaison between maintenance and production departments, develop company policies, identify ways to improve productivity, and promote a culture of preventive maintenance.
- Train and supervise maintenance department employees, negotiate contracts with vendors, ensure operational efficiency of equipment, and implement workplace safety policies.
- Monitor Maintenance KPIs, inspect completed work, meet project timelines, verify compliance with regulations, and oversee supply requisitions.
- Ensure maintenance procedures align with company standards, meet safety and health standards, communicate with management, evaluate machine resources, and manage spare parts inventory.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Educational Requirements and Experience:
- Technical or BA degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in maintenance management in a heavy manufacturing facility, strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and team building abilities.
- Knowledge of PLC systems is advantageous.
- Background in electrical circuitry and production equipment repair, with stamping and/or casting knowledge.
- Proficiency in computer skills, team leadership, and ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Ability to identify various parts, read instructions, and lift up to 50 lbs.
