Night Shift Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Indianapolis, IN

A well-established and renowned company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor for their night shift at the manufacturing site in Indianapolis, IN. The Maintenance Supervisor will report to the Maintenance Manager and be responsible for overseeing the maintenance department, production lines, and related equipment. The primary focus of this role will be to maintain the preventive maintenance system, exceed safety and uptime goals, and manage maintenance expenses. Other responsibilities include tracking equipment performance, prioritizing repair and improvement projects, providing technical coaching to mechanical craftsmen, and supporting maintenance and capital projects from an engineering perspective. Additionally, this role offers an 8% bonus eligibility, including base salary and overtime. Shift: 6:00pm - 6:45am on a 4x4 schedule with premium pay for additional unscheduled shifts.

  • Lead and supervise maintenance, installation, and repair activities for machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Monitor production line downtime and efficiencies, with a focus on identifying maintenance and mechanical trends for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure daily maintenance is completed by operating personnel, eliminating all causes of failure and prolonging equipment lifespan.
  • Train, motivate, and guide employees in adhering to safe and high-quality work practices.
  • Enforce the plant's safety program and comply with all OSHA regulations and standards.
  • Take ownership of predictive and preventive maintenance activities, including oil analysis, vibration analysis, engine-compressor analysis, and infrared thermography.
  • Evaluate and optimize the frequency of PM/PDM activities to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Maintain equipment within the maintenance budget, while adhering to the union contract and USDA regulations.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of previous maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of management experience.
  • Experience with Preventative Maintenance programs and knowledge of Electronic and Electrical principles.
