Maintenance Technician - Valve and Fluid Systems Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician - Valve and Fluid Systems Specialist to join our team at our location in Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will primarily focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, and valves. This position offers an attractive hourly rate and is for the day shift, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. Overtime is paid at time and 1/2. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (All duties and responsibilities are essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those identified as "May" duties.)
We are specifically looking for candidates with extensive experience in troubleshooting, replacing, and rebuilding valves, particularly in the context of die cast production equipment.
Level I
- Work with pneumatics and principles of compressed air.
- Identify basic components used in hydraulic circuits.
- Understand the schedule rating of pipe and fittings and identify common plumbing fittings.
- Install 120 and 480 volt circuits and perform other electrical-related tasks.
Level II (Includes all Level I responsibilities)
- Troubleshoot air logic systems using schematics.
- Explain the transmission of force and energy in a hydraulic circuit.
- Complete plumbing-related tasks, including layout, ordering, and installation of plumbing systems.
- Perform electrical-related tasks, such as reading schematics and troubleshooting PLC systems.
- Perform various types of welding and cutting.
Level III (Includes all Level I & II responsibilities)
- Install air logic controls from prints or schematics.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits and explain the function of various hydraulic components.
- Utilize fabrication equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Level I - High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1-2 years of related experience.
- Level II - High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2-4 years of related experience.
- Level III - Technical training certificates or associate's degree, plus 6-8 years of related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and problem-solving.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee occasionally needs to reach with hands/arms and lift up to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work environment is usually loud, with occasional exposure to extreme heat, high places, outdoor conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration.
