Equipment Maintenance Technicians
OVERVIEW:
A reputable company with a dominant market position in its industry and a positive work environment is seeking 2 Equipment Maintenance Technicians, one for the day shift and the other for the second shift with a focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, and valves. The location of the job is Peachtree City, GA. This position offers an attractive hourly rate. The day shift hours are from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. The second shift hours are from 5:00 pm to 3:00 am. Overtime will be compensated at a rate of time and a half. The key responsibilities of this role include equipment maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting, as well as making necessary adjustments or mechanical/electrical repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following duties and responsibilities are essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, unless otherwise stated.) General and additional duties as assigned.
Valve experience that involves hydraulics and pneumatics with the ability to troubleshoot, replace, and rebuild valves is required for this role. This skill set is particularly important for maintaining die cast production equipment in our environment.
Level I
- Pneumatics: Carry out tasks involving pneumatics and principles of compressed air.
- Hydraulics: Identify the basic components of hydraulic circuits using fundamental hydraulic principles.
- Plumbing: Understand the schedule rating of pipes and fittings and identify common plumbing fittings by name.
- Electrical: Install and work with 120 and 480 volt circuits, as well as perform other electrical tasks including AC and DC power.
Level II (This level includes all Level I responsibilities)
- Pneumatics: Troubleshoot air logic systems using schematics.
- Hydraulics: Explain the transmission of force and energy in hydraulic circuits.
- Plumbing: Carry out plumbing tasks including layout, installation of various types of plumbing systems, interpretation of isometric drawings, and use of basic plumbing codes.
- Electrical: Wire step-down transformers, read and write electrical schematics, troubleshoot PLC systems using a computer, install and troubleshoot electric motors and AC/DC drives, and use electrical test equipment for voltage, current, and ohm/meggar testing.
- Welding: Perform arc welding, MIG welding, plasma cutting, and oxy-fuel cutting.
Level III (This level includes all Level I & II responsibilities)
- Pneumatics: Install air logic controls based on prints or schematics.
- Hydraulics: Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits containing various components such as check valves, accumulators, cylinders, flow controls, directional control valves, pressure control valves, hydraulic oil coolers, filters, and different types of hydraulic pumps.
- Utilize knowledge of all fabrication equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Level I - High school diploma or GED, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level II - High school diploma or GED, two to four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level III - Technical training certificates or Associate's Degree, six to eight years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to identify problems, collect data, and establish facts.
