Job Title: Production Engineer

Location: Waterloo, IA

Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 per year

Job Summary: The Production Engineer position involves overseeing the development and implementation of all processes, procedures, and systems required for determining the feasibility of new product designs, from initial concept to initial production runs. Additionally, the Production Engineer coordinates activities for redesigns, updates, and improvements to existing products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement required design specifications for new and existing products.

• Implement necessary manufacturing programs, processes, and procedures.

• Implement safety measures, design layouts, tooling, fixturing, and prototypes.

• Manage departments that support manufacturing operations.

• Assist in establishing and implementing product testing and quality assurance standards.

• Coordinate procurement activities for raw materials and component parts.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.

• Provide support for major projects as directed by senior management.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Process, or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is highly desired. An Associates degree will also be considered.

• 3-10 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.

• Prior experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing.

• Prior experience with bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and time and motion studies for setting standards.

• Prior experience with MRP/ERP planning and scheduling processes and procedures.

• Prior experience in implementing quality assurance programs and procedures.

• Prior experience with sampling and final inspection of finished products.

• Prior experience working with calibration tools/instruments.
