Graphite Materials Engineer

Location: Nashville, TN


Our client, a global leader in carbon and graphite products with over $900MM in global sales, is seeking a talented R&D MATERIALS ENGINEER to join their expanding operation in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new products, improving existing products, and enhancing manufacturing processes.   • U.S. Citizenship required. Some projects involve the U.S. Defense Department and will be subject to ITAR Rules.
  • B.S. degree or higher in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering. M.S. degree is strongly preferred but not required.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in graphite or ceramic materials and their production methods, such as isostatic pressing and/or extrusion.
  • Experience in materials engineering with ceramics, carbon, graphite, and/or powdered metals is essential.
  • Proficiency in high temperature materials processing is required.
  • Project management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, statistics, and data analysis (DOE, ANOVA) is necessary.
  • Ability to work within a team and matrixed organization, while also being a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
  • Experience or familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methods and Operational Excellence is a plus but not required.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $90K to $100K base salary plus 5% bonus.
