Mechanical Combustion Applications Engineer
  • A four-year engineering degree, at least two years of experience in industrial sales application engineering, and five years of experience in mechanical engineering are required for consideration
  • Must have a preference for regularly engaging with customers over the phone (around 20-25 calls per day)
  • Salary range: $65,000 to $80,000

The sales application engineering process is fully automated with industry-specific online software. Customers input their data into the website, which generates quotes, proposals, and follow-ups automatically. This enables Sales Application Engineers to focus on identifying the best product solutions for customers. The software facilitates swift quote and proposal generation, with potential customers receiving responses in as little as fifteen minutes. This position does not require travel. The key responsibilities and duties include:
  • Spending 30% of time on the phone (around 20-25 calls per day)
  • Applying engineering knowledge to company products
  • Investigating customer requirements and needs
  • Resolving customer issues and challenges
  • Utilizing engineering expertise throughout the sales process
  • Analyzing and presenting suitable alternative proposals to company sales professionals
  • Communicating effectively via telephone, email, and virtual platforms


Experience with combustion is advantageous. The successful candidate should possess the following background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering
  • Five or more years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Must genuinely enjoy interacting with customers over the phone
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Two or more years of experience in industrial sales
  • Consistent and positive work history
  • Must be a US citizen or hold a Green Card
  • Residence within a 45-minute commute to the Richfield area
